Senior Systems Administrator

Location: All Latam - remote

Our client is a leading provider of cloud-based network solutions, dedicated to radically increasing application availability, performance, security, and cloud integration for their customers. They are seeking a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join their team and take charge of the administration, maintenance, and support of their IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain critical server and storage infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Manage and support virtualization environments, including Xen, XCP-ng, Hyper-V, and VMware.

  • Oversee server hardware, particularly Dell, HP, and Lenovo systems, ensuring all components are functioning correctly.

  • Implement and manage load balancers such as Citrix ADC and F5 Big-IP to optimize network traffic.

  • Manage storage solutions, including Nimble, TrueNAS, and PowerVault, ensuring data integrity and availability.

  • Handle basic networking tasks, primarily switching, with a preference for experience in Juniper EX/QFX or Dell PowerConnect.

  • Administer and troubleshoot operating systems such as Windows Server (2016 to 2022) and Ubuntu 22.x.

  • Manage and optimize databases, specifically Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring data availability and performance.

  • Implement and maintain backup systems, including DPM and VEEAM, to secure data and support disaster recovery plans.

  • Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Ansible, Elastic Search, and Kibana to streamline workflows and improve system management.

  • Apply firewalling concepts to both operating systems and network environments to enhance security.

  • Monitor and maintain the IT infrastructure using tools like PRTG and/or Zabbix, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in managing critical server and storage infrastructure.

  • Strong expertise in virtualization platforms (Xen, XCP-ng, Hyper-V, VMware, etc.).

  • Experience with server hardware from major vendors like Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

  • Familiarity with load balancers such as Citrix ADC and F5 Big-IP.

  • Knowledge of storage systems, including Nimble, TrueNAS, and PowerVault.

  • Basic networking skills, with a bonus for experience in Juniper EX/QFX or Dell PowerConnect switches.

  • Proficiency in managing operating systems, particularly Windows Server (2016 to 2022) and Ubuntu 22.x.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases.

  • Competence in backup systems such as DPM and VEEAM.

  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Ansible, Elastic Search, and Kibana.

  • Understanding of firewalling concepts for both operating systems and networks.

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as PRTG and/or Zabbix.
